Move request for page Shivaji I
Hi @Fylindfotberserk, Hope you are doing well. Can we please discuss how can we move protected page - Shivaji to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. I am not that experienced here on wiki, You help is much appreciated. Thank You ! PerspicazHistorian (talk) 13:22, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Fylindfotberserk: Doing fine thank you . You need to have a move request RfC at the talk page as detailed in WP:RM. Considering the instructions at the talk page header, it seems nigh impossible, but you can try. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:43, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Fylindfotberserk,
- 1) I am a good faith editor whose start on Wikipedia might have been not that good but I am getting better and now editing the space in good faith.
- 2) The enforcement started as a retaliation as mentioned by me in the discussion here.
- 3) I have edited on Wikipedia and in the past month, we can not find a single instance where I indulged in vandalism or POV pushes as mentioned in the enforcement.
- I request you to Kindly share your opinion in the discussion
- Note: I am currently undergoing my semester exams in university till 15th jan, might not respond swiftly. I respect your fair-mindedness and have a good faith that you will take side of Justice.
- Thank You ! PPicazHist (talk) 07:58, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Regarding Patiala State article
Hello @Fylindfotberserk sir, recently i had gone through the patiala state article and i had done some changes in it as per a reliable book by Lepel Griffin but an editor reverted my edits. Sir there are no doubt that the patiala state was ruled by the Jats of Sidhu Clan of Sikh religion as per many reliable books and sources. Thanks sir TheSlumPanda (talk) 12:04, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- @TheSlumPanda: Not sure what they mean by "not the background of its rulers" when that version is all about the background of the rulers. I don't see much difference between the two versions, except the mention of Jat, removal of which is kinda ironic since Sidhu and Sidhu-Brar are mentioned in the article. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:22, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yes sir that’s why i also got confused. Thanks sir TheSlumPanda (talk) 12:35, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
Improving an article
Hello @Fylindfotberserk sir, today i started to improve Bharatpur state article tone but a editor reverted my edits saying that i made the tone more worse. Sir please check my edits. Are they making the article worse or improved than previous tone. Thanks TheSlumPanda (talk) 12:10, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
Regarding Bharatpur State
Sir yesterday i improved the tone of lead section of Bharatpur State article but today a user removed the whole paragraph about Lohagarh fort which is one of the most important example of architecture of Bharatpur stating that the lead section is too long. And he didn'write the same paragraph in body , he only removed the whole content. Pleased sir look into this. TheSlumPanda (talk) 16:47, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @TheSlumPanda: This version (admin edit) before your additions to the lead includes the mention of Lohagarh Fort in the lead (twice including the mention of Deeg Palace). In this version, you've added information of when the fort was build; by whom; its architecture and the etymology of its name, which are too detailed / WP:UNDUE to be in the lead of an article about Bharatpur State,. Only the mention of it's name in the lead is enough. You may, if necessary, write these in brief in the article body, since there is already an article on Lohagarh Fort for such details. I see you've opened a discussion with the other user in the relevant talk page. That's good. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:44, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
Talk page
Can I ask why you deleted the section titled Bhutan on the Darjeeling talk page? I understand I wasn’t supposed to delete the section on official languages however I wanted to start a new discussion about the usage of official names in the lede. Thanks AtishT20 (talk) 17:13, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @AtishT20: I already answered that here. That section on 'Official languages' was used by another user as well. Why not start a new discussion? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:42, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- If you look at the edit mate on the talk page at 16:48 on 04/01/2025 you can see I made a new discussion called Bhutan. What I meant to say is why did you replace that section with the official languages section. I know now that I shouldn’t have removed that discussion but what I meant to ask is why couldn’t we keep both discussions up? You can see on the talk page that the discussion titled Bhutan wasn’t there before another user reverted it. Thanks AtishT20 (talk) 21:23, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @AtishT20: Obviously we could "keep both discussions up". I found your removal of older discussion disruptive, hence made a revert using a tool which removed it, and suggested a new discussion. The onus was upto you to keep the older discussion intact or restore it after my changes, which was restored anyway by another user. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 21:37, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- Alright.. all I wanted to know why the new discussion wasn’t there. Happy to see the other user has fixed it AtishT20 (talk) 21:40, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

FYI: botched move
It seems that your attempt at reverting the undiscussed move at List of talukas in Ahmednagar district ended up being botched - you've sent the page to "List of talukas in Ahilyanagar district:", adding only a colon to the title to which the article had been unilaterally moved. JavaHurricane 14:50, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- @JavaHurricane: Thanks for message. I moved it to List of talukas in Ahmednagar District, for the time being. Problems of not being a WP:PGM . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:03, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

Dear User:Fylindfotberserk, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I definitely agree with you that this edit is disruptive. - I was looking today and it appears that the editing of the IP address you referenced bears similarity to the edits of User:Qaiser-i-Mashriq. AnupamTalk 04:43, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Anupam: Thanks. I've skimmed through their edits and their POV against longstanding content is apparent in these diffs [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. Apart from this one which geolocates to Islamabad, they seem to operate through proxies [7] [8] as well. Pinging @Gotitbro, Fowler&fowler, and Orientls: - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:57, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- The name Qaiser-i-Mashriq does remind me of another anachronistic/nationalistic editor Muhafiz-e-Pakistan, though I cannot be certain if there is indeed a connection here. Also Cyber.Eyes.2005 (very similar edits to Qaiser-i-Mashriq on the simplewiki before being banned) which is closely related to the former.
- The editor is clearly disruptive though, as seen in this edit where the body clearly states that the extent isn't limited to Pakistan. Gotitbro (talk) 13:27, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Gotitbro: Yeah that Cybereyes guy. I remember. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:30, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Thank you so much for dealing with the Dhandhor situation. I wasn't feeling well, needed to get offline, and could only think to post a request on the vandalism board, which I knew wasn't the right place. begusarai
If you wouldnt let me expand the begusarai page or any other bhumihar related page, atleast help me,ur a pro in this stuff, just help me this one time.I just want you to add some more lines and topics,it's a humble request Thatonewikipediadude (talk) 17:07, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Thatonewikipediadude: For settlement related articles, follow FA/GA status articles, for example Prayagraj. As you can see, there is not mention of caste/communities or peoples' names in the lead, since these are not lead worthy. You can however mention of caste/communities in the "Demographics" section but you have to support it with reliable sources. Unsourced stuff will be removed. Names of notable individuals have to go to the "Notable_people" section. While this line "
It is part of the Fatuha-Bakhtiyarpur-Begusarai industrial belt
" can be added in the lead but would obviously need reliable source(s) in support. Please read WP:V. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:39, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
For Sunil Dutt's legacy section
Dear User:Fylindfotberserk, thanks for bringing this that linekdin is not a proper site. When i first see Sunil Dutt's page, lot of things were missing so added them. I have studied each and everything in detail and posted. the only request is to you that please dont delete the whole statement(alongwith reference). Just inform what i have to correct it. Gooshh (talk) 15:16, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Gooshh: Thanks for communicating. What you've added is not exactly "legacy". Secondly, the content isn't supported by the sources - words like handsome, greatest, etc need to be explicitly mentioned in the sources, which this doesn't, hence a case WP:OR and will get removed. Similarly, this source doesn't support this part mannerism, charm and dare to take up risky projects in his prime years, not to mention the source itself is unreliable (See WP:ICTFSOURCES). Third, subjective parts like the aforementioned falls under WP:PUFFERY, that is non-encyclopedic. Only if those are widely sourced and covered in good quality sources may only be mentioned. I'll tag the article for cleanup so that veteran copyeditors may have a look at the article and do the needful changes. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:09, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- but now i have addded the reliable sources Gooshh (talk) 16:32, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- The articles have clearly mentioned it about the person. You can check it out. Gooshh (talk) 16:35, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Gooshh: Do not remove maintenance, dateformat and English version tags at the top of the article. The last two are necessary (and hidden) and the tags I recently added isn't detrimental to the article but useful. It is not about sources and your edits only. A veteran copyeditor will check the article for inconsistencies, flow, grammar, WP:DUE and correct it, so that in future we may try promoting it to Good Article status. Also are you associated with the article subject in anyway or form, since your edits are very much restricted to it, then please disclose it. See WP:COI and WP:PAID for more information. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:35, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Change of Agharia caste description
I wanna change agharia caste description as Hindu caste from India is very usual and does not properly define it. Should I? Krmehra (talk) 13:11, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have changed it if any problem. You change it Krmehra (talk) 13:15, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Krmehra: Short description should easy to understand and basic. For average readers, who are mostly from US and Europe, "Caste from India" is enough. "Kshatriya descent caste migrated from Agra" is too complex for average reader. They have to look of words like 'Kshatriya', 'Agra', etc not to mention it imparts that the people migrated from an XYZ location which itself is a claim. See WP:SHORTDESC. I'm restoring the former without the religion part. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:30, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

- @Krmehra: WP:RAJ states "Indian censuses of the British Raj period are not usually considered to be particularly reliable". The rest of the section makes an argument why the works of British ethnographers are/maybe faulty. If you can find an independent source (not directly copied from British sources) IMO can be used. As for the lineage part, please add only when provided with reliable sources, when we have full access to it. Caste/tribe/community comes under WP:ARBIPA. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:10, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
Whats wrong with page?
Hello, Just want to ask you that why have you mentioned Maintance tag in Sunil Dutt's page. Is there any issue? Can it be resolved soon? Gooshh (talk) 15:45, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Gooshh: Maintenance tags are important in articles if there are inconsistencies, for example the article needs copyediting as well as some parts need to be rewritten. A tag flags the article so that editors associated with "copyeditors guild" in Wikipedia may come and improve the article. It is not detrimental to the article, it is done so as in the future the level of the article may be raised GA/FA status. After the needful changes are done, the editor will remove the tags. Also you have removed the disambiguation hatnote with links to other people bearing the same name. WP:HATNOTE are important to the articles. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:43, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- How long it will take time to resolve? Gooshh (talk) 17:49, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Gooshh: Maybe sometime. Wikipedia is a volunteer service. May happen within a few days or take longer. We need not hurry. A lot of time and effort went into GA and FA status articles. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:54, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

Regarding this comment, should we add Domain_of_India to the SPI case? I'm not familiar enough with the sockmaster to apply WP:DUCK here. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:53, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Ohnoitsjamie: Yeah, totally. This is a case of WP:DUCK. The incomprehensible language used in the edit summaries here and here (including the added text) is a telltale sign. This has been discussed multiple times in the SPI. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:17, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

User:شارق کشمیری
Hi, It's been long. I hope that you are doing well. A user شارق کشمیری has been moving many kashmir based pages without any discussions on the talk page such as Baramulla, Pulwama, Kupwara etc to its kashmiri name which are unofficial in nature be it for the central government of India or the state government of JK. I have been unable to undo the moving's of the pages and change of content. Could you please have a look in his contributions. Thank you Imranqazi90 (talk) 09:40, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

- (edit conflict) @Imranqazi90: I'm fine, thanks and hope everything is fine at your end too. I reverted most of the changes to WP:COMMONNAME and templated them, but I was just going to ask about Betaab Valley. Am not sure of this move and removal. Thanks for notifying . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:48, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Everything is fine on my side too. It's my pleasure to notify you whenever I come accross something wrong that I can't fix. I am surprised that he actually changed the Betaab Valley name's in February 2024 without anyone noticing it. That's why I added it to my watchlist. Imranqazi90 (talk) 12:53, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
